Some preliminary ideas include:
- An overview of your position on the topic
- Is this a Local Church issue only, or should it extend to other areas (parachurch, workplace)
- Women as missionaries.
- A book review or chapter review of a book related to the topic
- An explanation of a passage related to the topic
- A look at a historical case related to the topic
If you would like to participate, leave a comment to this post, possibly including your basic premise. If everyone could have their paper written by August first, we could submit them to one or two other participants for review. After getting some feedback, a second draft can be submitted within 2 weeks to the entire group. Following the second draft, the papers will be posted on the blog.
I am hoping that we could get together and go over our second drafts as a group, perhaps with some food and drinks. It could be a fun little get together. I do want to emphasize that the goal of this is not necessarily to reach a consensus, but to sharpen all of our thinking on the issue and to sharpen our writing skills. Peer review should ideally include feedback relating to grammatical, structural, and content issues.
If we become a follower, do we have to do this assignment?
ReplyDeleteNo, of course you don't have to. It's pick and choose. You can write about an assignment when you want to and ignore the ones you don't care about. I do think it would be fun if you could write sometimes though.
